Please remember that the advice in the pages which follow is only general information, about purchasing and letting property in Spain.
You should engage the service of a Spanish Lawyer as soon as you have decided to purchase a property, and if you intend to let a property over a long period.
Information is the key to making the process as stress free as possible, there are many well written books on the subject, try to buy the most up to date edition you can find a selection in our Recommend Books section.
Use the internet as a tool; many sites have communities of home owners of overseas properties, where information is available.

And never be afraid to ask a question of your lawyer, regardless of how trivial it may seam, rubbish collection, water rights or any other subject, which relates to you property purchases, you are paying for their time to act on your behave.
