This village house is in the pretty mountain village of Picena in Las Alpujarras. Famed for its natural spring water, mountain fresh air and away from the busy costal resorts this area is now much sought after by holidaymaker's and investors alike. The village of Picena is a hamlet of neighbouring Laroles. The village is set on the south facing side of the Sierra Nevada's. Less than 10 kms away from the Puerto De Ragua and the Ragua Pass, a mountain reserve offering skiing, horse riding, forest walking and all outdoor pursuits.
The house is arranged over 3 floors plus roof terrace. Entering through the front door the ground floor into a central hallway to the right there is a kitchen with original fireplace and marble topped units. Ahead is a large dining room with seating for 6 in what would originally have been the stables. Original features include the mangers and half height stable door. Wooden beams cover the ceiling and located off of the dining room is a separate bodega. The back of the house has the original 12th century stones set within the wall.
Upstairs to the first floor you will find the main lounge with original fireplace and large french doors which open out onto a traditional wrought iron and tile balcony. Also to the front of the house again with french door to the balcony is the first bedroom. To the back of the lounge is a small room containing the wc and sink. Another room to the rear can be used as a bedroom or any other use.
The slate steps lead up to the top floor which is currently arranged as 2 bedrooms and a bathroom but could be altered to make more use of the large space..
From here a short flight of steps lead up to the roof terrace which is the full size of the house. The panoramic views are spectacular throughout the day and into the evening. This house offers a chance to buy a great retreat at a bargain price for those wishing to sample the true flavours of Spain. Less than an hours drive from Granada, with its fantastic culture and world class downhill ski facilities and only 40 mins from the beaches of Southern Spain.
